We performed crazy sound poetry by Kurt Schwitters, Hugo Ball, and Christian Morgenstern as part of Spare Room experimental poetry collective’s marathon 100th Reading celebration on January 25.
See pix by Sam Lohmann on our Flickr album and Sam’s Flickr album. Above: Leo, David Abel, Anna, and Marko Whens doing Hugo Ball’s Karawane (1916).
We also did a version of Kurt Schwitters’ Ursonate (1922-32), and Christian Morgenstern’s “Das große Lalulà” (1890).
The Spare Room reading series celebrated seven years of presenting experimental writing in Portland with a marathon hundredth reading on January 25. Spare Room organizers past and present (with friends) read 100 Poems by 100 Poets from the Past 100 Years.
